In kindergarten, students will not have much homework. Because students are so young, I believe most of their time should be devoted to exploring and playing. Students this age should not be stressing over homework. However, each day I have assigned a small homework task that you can help your student complete that will reinforce what we have learned in class. Other days, I may assign students to read their AR book at home, or have someone read a book to them. Reading to your child is very important, and I strongly encourage you to read to your child every night even if it is not listed on the agenda for homework. At the beginning of each week on Monday, students will be sent home a checklist of the homework for each day. On Friday, the homework checklist should come back to school showing which homework tasks were completed. The following is example of the sheet students will receive every Monday.
